About Rachael Ray Dog Food

To provide high-quality, home chef-inspired pet nutrition while giving back to help animals in need through The Rachael Ray Foundation.

How Rachael Ray Dog Food Was Born

We launched Nutrish in 2008 when celebrity chef Rachael Ray partnered with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition to create a premium pet food line inspired by recipes she developed for her own rescued pit bull, Isaboo. The brand was born from a simple belief: pets deserve meals made with real ingredients and the same care we put into cooking for ourselves. From the start, we committed to giving back, with a portion of proceeds supporting animals in need.

In 2016, The Rachael Ray Foundation was formally established to fund critical food programs and support services for pets and people. Our growth was rapid — by 2016, Nutrish had become the fastest-growing pet food brand in the United States. J.M. Smucker Company acquired the brand in 2018 for $1.9 billion, and in April 2023, Post Holdings purchased us as part of a larger pet food portfolio acquisition. Today we operate from Lakeville, Minnesota under Post Consumer Brands.

Through March 2026, we have donated more than $112 million to animal charities and other organizations. Our product line has expanded from a few original recipes to include dry and wet dog food, dog treats, and cat food across multiple specialized formulas including Whole Health Blend, grain-free, and weight management options.
